Linux ready for primetime?
There are many options to consider when porting an entire corporation to a new ANYTHING. But, in addition to the contents of the article you posted a link to - remember that, besides linux and microsoft, JAVA OS is another option. Java is platform independent, and completely codable. If I was a company, I would start going towards the Sun.

There are also SEVERAL things about linux that need to be rethought, recoded, and reimplimented, the biggest being the user interface and the depth of the embedded applications, (audio/video subsystem etc...
