But whats funny is Java sued MS for adding in extra MS functionality to the java code they licensed. Now MS has decided to remove all java support from IE, along with Netscape plugins ( includes quicktime plugin ).

Because of it, Java is demanding that MS re-incorporate Java support, but MS is looking at making .net more functional, therefore removing the need for java. The whole thing makes java look stupid for demanding MS stop using it now they are begging MS to use it again.

On top of that, its also partly because the whole java code was really a take off of a company that made medical app code 3 years before Java came into existance...that comapny has been threatening sueing MS and java also for patent violations...another reason for MS to abondon java.

I would be prepared to learn something besides java in the near future, because if things play the way they are headed, java will be a thing of the past...because of their own doings.

BTW: Wasn't Java suppossed to make it's own OS? Wasn't a Sun OS thing made from Java? If so, why do they need MS's support?

I've worked with Java for about 2 months now - it is wonderful in comparrison to other, more primative programming languages. Java was built for one thing:

To make the lawnmower tell the radio to tell you that the new neighbors are using paint ball guns...lol

Java was built for the wireless generation, and is promptly fufilling that rapidly expanding niche. It is currently the realized form of Bluetooth, the evolution of C, and the EPITOME of platform-independent coding.

There is a long and prosperous road ahead of Java technology, as it evolves into a highly sophisticated, yet incredibly simple computer programming language.

Wouldn't surprise me. After I learned Java, C++ seemed like more of a pain.
