Windows XP injunction? Not likely.
I consider this a petty move that will only enrich the lawyers. XP will ship irregardless. The people that really use their computer will install the programs they are comfortable with and work around Microsoft's forced implementation of software. It would be nice if they would ship the install separate OS/applications (I know there's a default IE4 floating around on here somewhere) but the dollar is the bottom line and that's what these multi-billion dollar corps. are fighting over.

I still think MS should have the right to include ANY software it owns patents for into ANY of it's operating systems.
I guess I just don't see the big picture...I like simple rules like if they make it, they can put it in.
I also say screw the whiney baby companies that can't compete... cant stand the heat...get out the kitchen!

On Linux right? I would guess less than 2% of computer owners actually know how to operate it. Why do you think AOL is so popular?
"I still think MS should have the right to include ANY software it owns patents for into ANY of it's operating systems. "
The big picture is if MS keeps using shady business tactics and they continue to have their way.... you will be using a microsoft OS to run a MS mail client to connect to a MS mail server in order to download a file sent to you from a friend to play a game on your MS console.... ect competition is the consumers friend thats why Microsoft HATES it... Competition leads to better customer support, lower prices, and innovative products. Microsoft does NOT innovate.... they embrace and extinquish....

I agree that MS should be allowed to bundle their software with their OS. But MS isn't just trying to offer alternatives; they are trying to crush all competition in order to form a true monopoly and own computing.

Then I suggest the competitors that can't compete should refer to my other comment...
can't stand the heat...get out the kitchen
There will always be a company that will come along and compete, no matter the odd's.
MS will never be the only OS maker there is...it just won't happen.

Ummmm - It is hard to compete in something when they other guy decides to give it away for free to run you out of business.
At one point and time you would pay a nomial fee for Netscape, that is untill Microsoft decided to give their browsers away for free, and include them on the desktop without allowing Netscape to do the same.
If you are not aware of a choice due to not being able to let the population know that you exist because the big guy controls all the access point - how can you compete. Or to use your reference - how can you get into the kitchen when the entry is blocked by the other cook.

Actually...I was tickled pink when MS gave away IE. It meant I could have a browser I didn't have to spend the $50 it cost, which I didn't have to spend. It was nice for MS to step in and help us poor people out. Netscape was forcing us to buy something not worth the money.
I was at one time confused and thought Netscape was going to be an operating system....you know...maybe they should have made an operating system back then...I guess they just weren't smart enough to figure it out.
I'm not surprised that others are whining about not having a chance...that has been liberal teachings since before welfare started. I must be stupid to expect it not to transgress to the PC market also.
