True, any real computer pro wouldn't get a Dell or a Gateway for that matter in the first place. Probably some Microsoft deal anyways, oh well, My dad has a Dell and I had to fix the problems with it. Forget the tech support, be on hold for 3 hours, and then won't fix the problem, or give you the third party excuse and they don't cover it reason.

Dell never even offered me the option of shipping with Linux OS. I assumed that the company was only Microslave sellers. I didn't need their help putting it on their machine anyway, but I might need it to ditch this damned annoying MSN Explorer that came with it!

They are still offering servers/workstations just no more desktops/laptops.

I found that builing your own PC is much more profitable and reliable than buying a proprietary one. Besides, now you don't HAVE to get the onboard video, or the onboard audio, you actually have the choice to pick between quality and whatever the company want s to give you.

It has certainly been covered by the responses thus far....

Anyhow, the possible increased hardware sales by offering Linux are outweighed by the loss of the discount on Microsoft software -think Microsoft is above pulling its discount offers from resellers who offer other alternatives? -think again.
