AOL wants top billing on new PCs

That is absolutely hilarious! Microsuck really does have a set of huge ones to be labeling another company's proposed marketing strategy as anti-consumerism.

Of course, look at who they're slamming - the Microsuck of the online world: AOHell.

I don't want to pay for something I cannot use (that is IF I buy XP).

There is absolutely no AOL 200 km around my house.

Yeah, that's what they all say, and then WHAM!! AOL shows up on your computer wanting to install, and I'm sure it'll crash it every chance it gets unless you detect all of the files it left and delete them or you install the little *******. Hey, has anyone ever been to AOL.com?? I've never seen such a big frigging ISP that had POP-UP ads on their homepage. Only free ISP's normally do that, but noooo, AOL doesn't have enough members already, gotta get more, more, more!! What a load of ****.

Alot of ppl avoid this kind of **** by building thier own computers and putting whatever *they* want on it.And if AOL is allowed to put itself prominently on Emachines, then let'em.That should certainly cement Emachine's reputation as the pet rock of the computer world.

    AOL just got Compaq:

OK, so they got the two worst PC's on the market: EMachine and Compaq...

All I gotta say is that I'm glad I build my own PCs and have free ISP in my area. I would go without Internet access if it meant using AOL. My $.02... Raist

Got new Dell P4 2 months ago. Came loaded with all that ****! Have coupon for XP from Dell. After reading reviews on Cnet Zdnet and Steve Gibson's privacy concerns plan on leaving it alone. Am currently uninstalling Office XP, (came on machine) because my old Office 97 is quicker. I use local ISP no busy signals, no lost connections. AOL is fine for a child, but as you age you put away childish things. Give us all a break AOL and leave your software on the WalMart checkout stands!

Aol has raised prices recently when in reality they should have lowered prices with so many users. Don't make sense but if you are greedy you are greedy. And since they need more money for suckering uh I mean marketing.. why not?
I think they assume that the average consumer is very ignorant to things but that has changed a lot since a few years ago.
That's fine with me, let them dig a bigger grave for themselves as they will find themselves outpriced regardless of how many ads and ideas these exec "suits" who get paid The Big Money will find out!
    Muahahhahahhahahhahhahahahahah..

    >>“AOL is paying (computer makers) to eliminate consumer choice, forcing people to select the most expensive service in the industry,” spokesman Vivek Varma was quoted as saying. <<

So basically what this guy from microsoft is saying, is that if you preload software on a machine that is FORCING someone to use it? I thought that they told us their preloading of IE, cd-burning software, Media Player and all the other **** on XP wasn't neccesarily FORCING consumers to use it, as there are plenty of alteranatives out there if one would simply look for them......gee, a double standard from MS....I'M SHOCKED!!! (sarcasm, can you tell?)

OK Ok About this aol deal. I love it! It's Great! Do you all relize how much money it brings me when someone's machine breaks down due to aol exposer? I then reload their machine (since aol is like a virus it eats the enternal software up) and redirect them to a different and since it is different a much better isp. It's great

I advise all my friends and family to avoid AOL. But most of them get it anyway because they don't know sh_t about the net and pc's but all their friends have AOL. After a while they quit AOL and go somewhere else. There is not and never will be AOL on any of my machines. Also a note to AOL exec's, not everyone lives in or near a big city where it is available.
