1GHz Duron and other AMD moves

So would this mean there might be a price drop in the lower end durons like the 750 (to be discontinued soon?) and 800?

I'm upgrading chip and board next week, but I'm thinking it would take a while for any price drops to trickle down?

With the frequent product introductions and price drops it almost makes overclocking irrelivant. I bought a Duron 750 in late May for $48 as part of a mobo/CPU upgrade from my former Celeron 300a(450oc) system. This Duron is now $28. CPUs are essentially disposable commodities.

The Athlon 1G CPU is only $82. It sure is wonderful when there is CPU competition. I remember when a 486/66 CPU was a $480 part.

Any know if this means all AMD processors, or just the Duron's. I was planning on purchasing a Thunderbird 1.2 tomarrow, but don't know if I should wait and see if the price cut, or if that's just wasteing time.
