Intel stops shipping new Xeon
WELL NOW WHY STOP NOW MR.INTEL... I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF MY 30YRS OF LIFE, A PROGRAM OR A MANUAL TEST THAT RUN A CPU AT 2GHZ. I AM CURRENTLY USING A P3 500 w/512k cpu and it is fast and enough for my processing speed. I am probably using 1/3 of the cpu when running oracle or java. So if i was rich and stupid to buy a 2ghz, then please email me a software that would allow me to run at the max or even 1/3 the speed.

The first three can indeed use 100% of the CPU. Applications like 3D rendering and gaming use lots of CPU power and if more is availible, they could be more complex or finish much quicker.
Speech recognition still runs fairly slow on my 750mhz, and it could be improved but that would take a lot more power.
A very closeminded thing to say, Mr. Hello, if that is indeed your real name .
On the actual topic, this seems to be pretty similar to the 1.13 p3 retraction. Too much hurry and marketing and not enough research and development.
