Guide to Napster alternatives
Do this:
1) Find friends with compatible musical tastes
2) Trade ICQ numbers
3) Have at it
4) Be grateful for freedom

Mirc was around before napster and is still going strong.
-
never used anything but mirc, i laughed at all those people having a fit when napster went down, then again i am old school when it comes to stuff like that
-
Give winmx a try. www.winmx.com It has been a blessing since napster went down. Video and resume too!
-
all i can say is what ever is the next most popular program is going to be the next target to be shut down or "filtered" so good luck on finding one that will last besides mirc.

I've gotten about 2 gigs of music from audiogalaxy. It works pretty good!
-
KaZaA is by far the best program for this - handles music, movies, software, documents and pictures.
But the most efficient is probably DUD view - it works, and ICQ has resume to.
-
I looked at WINMX website. They claim they dont utilize spyware. Can anyone confirm this?

Since Napster started having problems I have downloaded many file sharing programs. In my opinion Morpheus is the best. It conects quick and there are alot of files online.

Morpheus is an excellent program. Appears to be better than Napster.

Any Opennap client will work as a viable alternative to other propietary closed end systems.
Anyone with a permanent connection to the internet can run an opennap server.
The best client by far is http://www.winmx.com
It allows you to connect to any number of opennap servers, manage your shared files, etc.
Needless to say i have downloaded close to 4GB of music, which i share on a 24/7 basis using the winmx.com client.
Better yet, winmx has a peer to peer client that works great.
Give it a shot.
Download the client from winmx.com and go to
the napigator page www.napigator.com to get a listing of opennap servers and enter the servers in your winmx client.
In a few hours you will be connected to servers all over the world, with millions of files shared.
