    IE in WinXP may manipulate sites

    You can test drive this feature in the IE6 Public preview. The current smart tag links are financial info (stock price, analyst report, etc.)for certain major companies. Also, most of them don't actually work. This is similar to technology found in the flysway browser plug-in/spyware. I can't comment on the possible spyware aspects of M$ browser smart tags, but if it's there it's buried deep enough in IE that Zone Alarm doesn't catch it...

    Well if it is part of the IE program, you could have given it permission via ZA. ZA is nice, but not infallible.
