    DUUUUHHh!@!!!
I should have just tried Nvidia.com!!!

I installed them and my card performed worst in Quake 3 and 3dmark so I installed 12.90 again.!
I think they are really optimized for the GF3!

I have a Gforce3 and I saw a substantial increase, but I did notice if I overclocked my card, the results took a hit.

    I run a

    T'Bird 1400 @ 1500
    256Mb DDR
    40Gb ATA100 7200
    Winfast Geforce III
    Win Me

With Detonator III 3D Mark2001 runs @ 5693 in Default Mode
With Detonator IV it jumped to 6415 without o/c. I think det IV is definetly G3 optimised, to me it's like having a new card free of charge. nVidia rocks alright, they rock big time.

My card is behaving strangely with the new detonaters

    P3 1ghz
    256mb ram
    phrophet II mx 64mb
    etc...

i'm getting 10-15 fps faster in q3 but in 3dmark2001 i am now getting strange errors and connot complete the tests.

Hope they revise their drivers soon!

Strawbs: You are getting 6415?! I'm pretty sure (I'll have to double check though) that I'm using the latest Det drivers, but on my system, I'm only getting 4999 on 3DMark2001... here is my system:

    Asus A7A266 Mobo
Athlon 1.4Ghz (Not overclocked right now)
    512MB Crucial DDR
    VisionTek GeForce3

Okay... so your chip is oc'd, but it doesn't seem to me that 100mhz is going to unleash 1415 more marks on a similar system. I know the VisionTek generally benches lower than most GeForce3s, but still..

I ran it today without any o/c (@1400Mhz) and scored 6600 exactly, When I o/c the card it scored 7813, are you running Win Me or 98? . The blurb at nVidia says the drivers are Opt for win XP, so it could be that 98 is just that little too long in the tooth. Make sure you have DX8.0a as DX 8.0 is flawed. you could also try taking a stick of ram out (if you have 2) and testing with 256mb, I've heard that too much ram can cause problems with this board, otherwise it may be your card has too many changes from nVidia spec for the drivers to have any drastic effect. Interesting problem though. I've just remembered one other thing that may make a difference, Although we have the same Mobo, I've udated my bios to v. aa261006. Have You? available on the asus wed site. Best of Luck

I just downloaded and installed the new detonator 4 drivers, and removed them for the 12.90 about 5 minutes later. I didn't benchmark it using 3dmark2k1, but I did use UT to test it. I'm getting about 10fps less with the new drivers than I was with the 12.90.

What I noticed was that the FPS was very erratic with the new detonators, when there was no action going on, it would occassionally spike to 80fps, but it would usually stay in the mid 70's, but as soon as there was some shooting going on it dropped to 58fps, and at times much lower for just about half a second or so. With my 12.90's I never get below 65fps, normally i'm in the high 60's low 70's... Again, with an occassional spike into the 80's. I'm using a GF2MX400 64MB and running UT in 1024x768x32.

Maybe I didn't have the new dets when I posted before... because I went and got the XP/2000 drivers, and my score jumped by 1441 marks!

    AMD 1.4
    Asus A7A266

The new XP Detonators are great, I went from about 140 fps in Quake3 to 180, and from 190 in UT to around 220.
