SPECviewperf.... what the heck am I doing..

anyone use this benchmark... do I just run the testAll batch and let it run for ever and ever.... is it eventually supposed to stop and display bench stats..?

Or does it just run until I stop it and have to do something to retrieve the stats

    Welcome to Sysopt!

I have not used tis benchmarking program, but hopefully someone here has some knowledge of it. Most people here use SiSoft Sandra and 3D Mark.

SPECviewperf is a serious OpenGL benchmark for professional level testing.

The "run all" option does eventually come to an end, though it could take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours to the tests. A video card with a hardware ICD and preferably hardware T&L is is desired. If you're rendering through software OpenGL, then it could literally take days!

Once the test stops, it will display a wieghted average score for each test. For more detailed results, browse to the SPECviewperf directory. Here you can view in-depth testing details plus examine captured pictures for image quality testing.

What is your system configuration? CPU, video, etc.
