    P4 benchmark question

Running Sandra on new P4 CPU 1.3Ghz. Dhrystone 2420Mips, Whetstone 772/1587 Mflops. Currently running Me on machine. Sandra recommends switching to Win 2000. Why? Running Dacris benchmarking claims the RDRAM is faster than the processor recommends faster processor. What's the deal with that! Suppose that's fine for future upgrading but this thing is new!!

    Ignore all these recommendations ...
Rely only on benches compared to similar P4 machines, if yours fine, then everything is OK.
Running W2K will add stability to your work, but gaming performance may decrease.
What kind of software do you run most ? WinME got serious memory issues, I'd recommend on switching to Win98SE ...

    Best Regards ...

Run multimedia progs mainly (photo, video, audio editing). Was happier with 98 on previous machine. Me loves 3 finger salute. Have been using Ram Idle to manage ram and swap. Does a good job of keeping Windows from hogging memory. I caught it a couple of times sucking up 200 or so meg so hunted down memory manager.

Your system is fine. I would suggest win98 SE if your going to go with any win95 based OS. But what you have right know is cool.
