    How many fps in UT?

I just purchased a new video card (ASUS geforce2 UlTRA (64meg) and am only getting 50 to 60fps. Is this abnormally low? How many fps does a geforce3 get in uT?

Note: plese test fps with these settings to accuratly compare- 1024x 768, 32bit color, full detail.

    System specs?
    What version video drivers?
    What version of UT?
    What renderer: OpenGL or D3D?
Are you using either the beta DX v8 or OGL render to enable S3TC support with the 2nd CD set installed?

    Catch ya' later,

S3TC is texture compression. It allows you utilize the highly detailed textures found on the 2nd UT CD. Check out the Unreal site for the update, as your GF-2 supports S3TC. You can choose either an UT beta DX 8 or OpenGL rendering engine. The S3TC OpenGL renderer is prefered, as the DX8 engine still has some performance related bugs.

Also, be sure to disable OpenGL v-sync in the nVidia control applet for optimum frame rate. This can vary benchmark scores by many fps.

Your scores should likely be above 60 fps, but I can't offer a direct comparision at this time. The only system I have UT installed on is my notebook, which scores a wonderful 28 fps in Revered's Thunder demo.

YEP.!!! As Rob says, disable v-sync in OpenGl and DirectX.! I get more than 90fps in UT so you should get quite more because all I have is a GeForce MX..!

Which OS also? This tends to make a bit of a difference.

eagle1- U get 90fps in full detail in 1024x768 32bit witha geforce2 MX??? that seems awfully fast for an MX in that resolution and detail

I am running win 2000 Pro

i have dsabled vsync and enabled s3tc texture compression and I am getting strange readings. At the start of an UT game (just on launch) I get over 100fps and that decreases as low as 80 or high 50's when I am playing. I have a pretty good cooling setup also and have allready added 3 fans with a 120mm blowhole. I am thinking that it could be my drivers.

Does refresh rate affect the fps??? I know that I experiance tearing when I run it in 1024x768 at 60hz on my Diamond view monitor. This is maxed out so I prefer to run it in 800x600 at 85hz refresh rate.

    OK. I'm running in Win98SE.

Well... at 32 bits and at that same resolution, I'm still getting between 65 and 80 fps.!!!

Guys, what is the console command to get fps? I have UT, and I know I get good fps with my new setup, but would like to know it. Has anyone tried TacOps for UT yet? I have heard it is like Counter Strike. I just hope they don't have those silly player animations like UT. They look like they moonwalk for godsakes. But a great looking game nontheless. The absolute best graphics and map design I have ever seen. Also, is there a CS-like mod for Quake3? I don't care for deathmatch, thats why I don't own Q3. I got the demo and get great fps with all the details on. But team-play is what I like.

The is no console command for UT. All you have to do is enable "timedemo statistics" box under the tools section of the menu and play the game as normal. I think you are thinging about the Urban Terror mod for Quake III. I play it all the time over the net and it is an awsome mod, simular to counter strike in its own way but is fairly demanding on the computer at full detail.

    Exacerbateman---

Thanx. I have heard of Urban but never looked into it. I will now. As long as I get around 40 fps at lowest I'm ok. Man, now that I get 99 fps in CS, I got on a server running the deagle5 map (only deagles available), up against 6 others, and got a wopping 62 kills and 30 deaths. And they were cable users! Man, fps goes a long way in determining yuor score in my opinion. They say ping, but i think its on other games with sub-par netcode. ***** all yuo want about HL, but it is great for us 56kers.
