    Preloaders... concept is like this:

    Preloading SCENE
At its simplest form... you have 2 keyframes in the PRELOAD SCENE. (The scene where your current movie exists now should be renamed to MAIN SCENE.

Keyframe 1 of PRELOAD SCENE states:
if last_frame_in_movie of MAIN SCENE is done loading (use the If Frame Is Loaded A/S), gotoAndPlay MAIN SCENE, else gotoAndPlay Keyframe 2.

Keyframe 2 of PRELOAD SCENE states:
gotoAndPlay keyframe 1 again (in effect, causing it to loop the PRELOAD SCENE till movie is done loading).

All the while, you show in a different layer of the preload scene (both frames) some simple message saying Loading... or something like that. More advanced preloaders have percentages loaded shown (done via other A/S and some math manipulation).

There are plenty of tutorials on preloaders at http://www.flashkit.com and http://www.were-here.com (just to name a couple).
