    i'm new at flash
    is there anyway to import pictures/graphics into your library?

    Click File-->Import and choose the files to import. You can import graphics, pictures, sounds...a little hint, if you plan on animating any of the imported graphics/pictures, convert them to a symbol. It is much easier to manipulate a symbol than an imported resource.

    That was the key to Flash... when I first started learning, I didn't realize most things needed to be converted to symbols before you can alpha fade them... was pulling my hair out (You have to have a keyframe selected before "import" becomes un-greyed-out). It will help keep file sizes small too.

    Another tip... before importing, make sure sounds are of the best quality first, then compress them in Flash for best results. Images appear the same, so you have to find the right balance between quality and export size.
