What's happening with DVRWs?
Not really my area of expertise and havn't really looked at any products but are there any DVD burners yet? Or can you burn DVD's to CD's, I've heard of people converting DVD's to Video CD's and losing things like sub-titles.

I saw a DVD burner a couple days ago when I went to purchase my yamaha CDRW. It cost $700 or maybe it was $800 I don't remember exactly. You can RIP DVD's to CD's but you'll have to sacrafice something. I know a few people that RIP DVD based Playstation 2 games onto CD's and they have to get rid of a few audio tracks to make it fit.

They're called DVD-RAM. Capacity is up to 9.4GB and can be read in a standard DVD-ROM.
The best DVD-RAM drive price I've seen recently is $540. DVD-RAM discs cost around $50 to $60 for 9.4GB.
Technically, it is possible to copy DVD's to CD, but yes, you would definitely sacrifice some things.

Alright thx, been curious and hadn't seen any, Are the DVD's re-writable?

For the price of a small hdd, they'd better be!
I can see DVD-RAM taking off here pretty quickly with buying down.. prices will drop, blessing techies such as ourselves.
