DVD Regional codes question
I have a Creative PC-DVD 5X. There's a DVD movie i want to get which is only sold in the UK. If i get it, will i be able to play it on my drive? The manual doesn't really say if it would or not. The closest to any explanation i could find is the line "Regional codes are part of the DVD standard - your regional code (Region 1) is embedded in the DVD software.
BTW, i'm in the US and got my DVD drive in the US. It plays the DVD's i get here just fine.
I'd appreciate any info good or bad. If the news is bad, i'd also like to know if there's a workaround/hack.
Thank you
NOTE: After i posted this question i did a search and found this:
faq.inmatrix.com
Thot i'd leave this post here for anyone else who might want to look at it. BTW, the above link is really good.

The "Drive Region Info" utility might tell you if your dvd-rom is region-free or not. If not, you can only watch stuff from a particular region. It's only 5k to download <A HREF="http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/dvd_utils_2.shtml"" TARGET=_blank>here</A> . Also check out the "DVD Region Killer" utility. (Same link).
**Use these utilities at your own risk, because I don't know have the utilities and don't know if they will actually work or not.**
Hope this helps.
