anyone have this drive? just wondering if people are having problems with defective disks ie.data lost sectors etc..(just browse forum at storeagereview.com)
i want to get this drive as i loved my 75gxp before it died after 6 months
Sorry to hear about death of your 75GXP. I have the 46.1GB model for about 6 months, and still alive
60GXP should perform as 75GXP at all aspects, their only difference from 75GXP series is the use of 20GB plates instead of 15GB in 75GXP.
Better luck next time
Best Regards ...
A few review links on the 60gxp here .
Hope this helps, slacker.

heh i'll probably get it anyway and take my chances
I dont recomend that 60GB model and higher. it seems to **** out every 2 months i had one totally **** out i got a replace ment for it and now the replaced 60GB drive started the same ball game but i havent heard it do it since last sunday. if i hear it goes to **** again ill send it in for yet another one. i have a 30gb drive which i had no problems with (same exeact model just 30GB) next time i wont be getting IBM western digital or maxtor.
JacAndCoke: I have both drives in my machine and I am please with both. Just bought the 60 GXP for Win XP. Presently use it as my Master. Slightly faster than the 75GXP, but as I say, that's like saying "my Lamborghini is faster than my Ferrari". Both are FAST

haven't had any problems here.. 60GXP is the best as far as I can tell.. reviews are great.. only time will tell the rest. it's IBM, what else is there to say?
oh, yeah the price is right only $105 on newegg.com and $9 shipping for 40GB model.
I presently have a 13.5 GB 22GXP. Does any one know how much of a performance gain I will get if I replace it with two 20GB 60GXPs striped on RAID 0 with a Promise FastTrack TX2? I use this system primarily for multi-track audio recording.
