HELP!!! TDK 24/10/40
i'm having trouble with this drive! with the included nero 5.5 when i copy a cd about 630MB in size, it takes nearly 8 minutes! nero reports that it IS burning at 24x, and I am using 24x certified media. According to my math, and even the drive box, it should take about 4 minutes for a full 650 meg cd...any ideas???
I should probably add, that yes, my two cd drives are on seperate channels, and i've also tried cacheing it to the hard drive first and timing it after that it still takes 8 minutes from the time burning starts.

Evil Lurks
If you will check your burner's detailed specs , you'll see that 24x is maximum speed. You burner uses Zone-CLV method to burn the CDs, it means that it will achieve 24x only at the end of the disc, and I believe it uses only 12x-16x speed at most areas.
Best Regards ...
