HOw to change hardrives?
I am upgrading to a 40gb 7200 IBM from something else. Assuming the hardware connections go ok, what is the best way to transfer the contents from the old drive to the new one? The old one uses System Commander to partition between w98se and w2k.
Thanks
I do have a cd burner, if that is one way to do it.

Best thing to so is to copy the data over by connecting both drives to the system (master and slave). You have several possibilities after you accomplish this. You can use XCOPY in DOS or any number of third party utilities to transfer all of your data over. There is an app out called PC Relocate now that will also rip your programs from one drive to the otehr without taking the OS with it. Not sure if it works though...
Good luck

Thanks, I found the site pc911 (pcnineoneone.com) and got everything going, with a trip to IBM's download page to get their hd installer.
