auto notification

i have a tdk 16x12x40x that wont auto detect it is set to master the slave is a toshiba dvd that seems to work fine jumpers are set right cables connected i just can't get a respons from my burner any ideas

Just a few questions.
what is on your primary channel right now? 1 hd.

Are you sure the burner is not set to cable select?

right now I would recommend to take out the dvd and try getting the burner to detect or try placing the dvd as master and putting the burner as slave.

One other thing to double check is to make sure your connections are secure your burner cable could be loose.

Have ya looked in Device mgr to see if "auto insert notification" was checked ?
