    data recovery software needed badly

i just went through a disastrous hard drive format. i made a partition into which i copied all my needed files then began to format my c drive. it went on smoothly but when all is done and i was about to copy my "backe up files" in the separate partition, it was gone and when i look at its patition info, it says unformatted. i dont know what happened and im not really interested to know. all i want is to recover my data. is there a downloadable freeware or shareware software in the internet that will do this? NEED HELP REALY BAD!

How did you make the new partition that you backed up your data to? Once you created the new partition did you format it? Don't do anything to the drive until you get some recovery software. If you try anything that doesn't work it greatly increases the chance that you'll never get it back.

yes, how EXACTLY did you change your drive partitions/formatting. This is VERY important to whether anything is still there to be recovered.

Do absolutely NOTHING to that drive until you have the recovery software to do it.

    Hi,
If you have NTFS, take a look at http://www.restorer2000.com/r2k.htm

I use a proggy called "Revival", it works with all general partitions (FAT16/FAT32/NTFS), once was able to restore files from partition deleted by Fdisk and reformatted (!)
But it seems to be unavailable anymore on the Net, so I'll mail it to you (about 1MB+crack )

    Best Regards ...

thanks ND just got your e-mail. i'll try it tom. since i just got out of one heluva week. I only have one hd though with 2 separate partitions so i think i'll install it to my functioning windows then use it to recover files (if any) in the other "unformatted drive". I sure wish this thing works coz i'm desperate!
