Job is now complete, you have just completed a standard home service on your CD Recorder. All that you need to do now is to replace the recorder back into your PC.
--All you need to do now is replace the recorder as you have just broken a good recorder.

I have an Affrey 50x CD-ROM that is BROKEN

Took it down to the bare bones then re-assembled it.

Odd how the mechanism works to hold the CD in place, it's a very quick movement to slam the disc into place.

It would be a good idea for anyone thinking about taking down their GOOD burner to first open a "Bad" drive and see if they feel competent.

    thanks Muno, you're right

In a box of Free junk a month ago, one of the CD-ROM's had the tray laying in the bottom of the box.

I stuck it back into the drive, it's been working fine since,, lucky me .
