help me please Primary or Secondary?
1.I'm trying to install this EIDE hard drive
2.I ran the installation software and chose Secondary Master. Should I have chosen Primary Slave instead?
3. What do I do next?

The drive designation is determined by which mobo connector the HDD is connected to, and also by the position of the jumper on the drive.
- If you hooked the drive to the IDE cable that is connected to the IDE 0 connector on you mobo, and set the jumper on the back of the drive to "master", then it's the Primary Master.
- If you hooked the drive to the IDE cable that is connected to the IDE 0 connector on you mobo, and set the jumper on the back of the drive to "slave", then it's the Primary Slave.
- If you hooked the drive to the IDE cable that is connected to the IDE 1 connector on you mobo, and set the jumper on the back of the drive to "master", then it's the Secondary Master.
- If you hooked the drive to the IDE cable that is connected to the IDE 1 connector on you mobo, and set the jumper on the back of the drive to "slave", then it's the Secondary Slave.
It would be helpful if you described which cable you hooked the new drive up to, and what other drives you have in you system.

I just saw your other thread. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum18/HTML/000070.html
If you see the message Secondary Master : None, that's either because there is no hard drive attached as Secondary Master, or you haven't gone into the BIOS and set the Secondary Master to "Auto".
Perhaps this online tutorial at PC911.com will provide some guidance.
