Inside CD rom ...websites please.

Hello, I've been having problems with my CD rom as of late. I took it apart (rather crudely unfortunately (had to force it open)). I put it back together without the top on. When I tested it it refused to spin the CD. It made a few noises but that was about it.
Just wondering if anyone has any tips or hopefully a good website with pics of the insides of a CD Rom. Thanks.

Thanks, not too concerned about the detail, or the Cd rom for that matter... more of an unintended educational adventure than anything. Anything Linux works (I;ve been recently trying it on for size ... it fits!), and How Things Work! How could I forget such a site! Shame on me. . . Thanks for the reminder. Wuz feeling frustrated over a few hardware issues. A little better now

One helluva long night of tinkering, somehow it works now... but this is the third time it the past 24 hrs that it has been "working". It has been good for sometime now, only hours though, hopefully good for a few months. Kudos to Srcfish!
