    CDROM/CDR/CDPlayer Lens cleaners

What exactly is the deal with all the laser lens cleaning products out on the market? Are they worth it? Do they really work? How necessary is the use of lens cleaners in CDROMs, CDRs, & regular CD Players? If they do work which ones are the best?

I bought one for myself and it didn't look that hightech anyway. All I see is the tiny brush attached to the cd I guess to a certain track or smth. Why waste your $$, get a used toothbrush to brush your cdroms lens . It should of work the same rite?? blink! blink !!

Actually, believe it or not, those little brushes do the job quite well in my opinion. I've fixed some CDROM drives that had read errors using those CDROM lens cleaners. And no, you don't want to take apart your CDROM drive and clean the lens with a toothbrush or anything that's going to knock the lens out of alignment due to excessive force.
