Help! how do i configure my additonal harddrive

I have recently installed a PCI Raid Controller card to enable a 3rd IDE channel. My new harddrive is connected to this and set as Primary (G After installing windows it took primacy in booting, even when told in BIOS to use C: only. I was forced to remove the partition and leave the new drive unused to regain control of C:
Would I improve matters if I made the newer (larger)drive primary on IDE 0 and place the smaller drive on the raid card as secondary? I was thinking of partitioning and dual booting the larger drive and using the smaller drive as backup?

My question is Do you want to BOOT from the Raid card and are you wanting to use raid?

Admitedly I chose the wrong forum to post the question, maybe this has most to do with the delay. I had even forgotten about the post, but this being the first time to my knowledge of a reply it's not too surprising.
Fortunately I have discovered a real-time alternative to this forum, and with their help and some perseverance on my part all is well.
