    Excellent upgrade Scott...but why?

The old UBB forum used a flat file interface that had to open a massive file index each time an operation was performed. This also doesn't account for the time extensive operations needed for the administation of UBB.

vB uses a database format (mySQL to be technical), thus it can operate with only small dynamic fields of data instead of having to manipulate a large file. The benefits are that SysOpt can now provide more options with less overhead and great speed.

MySQL. Fast and more efficient. I use it with a few of my sites.
This will all be over before you can say Cat in a Hat.

Do I need to do something to correct the time thing- I just posted and it was 1020 pm my time (colorado) and it was posted as 420 am... I read earlier in this post about the time issues, I was just wondering if i had to do something on my profile to help out... ALL THE UPGRADES ARE GREAT! Thanks Scott and all the others involved... too cool!

Mortis, open "user cp", then "edit options". Near the end of the option list is a feature to change your time zone information.

    Hope this helps,

Something else I just noticed regarding the time issue.

I reset mine days ago, but today when I got here all times were wrong. OK, just check the user cp & see if something's changed. But today for some reason I had to log in, when I didn't before after the first time. After logging in, all times were correct w/o actually changing anything.
Guess it's best to sign in before even browsing the forums, huh.

So - how often will this happen? And how can I set things to prevent it?
Already checked "yes" on both "Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies)" and "Browse board with cookies?"
Did I miss something? Worked fine until today.

Not really a big deal, though.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Sounds like either the cookie was deleted or expired. No big deal, as you found out, all you have to do is simply login again.
