    Suggestions for new speakers?

I am looking for speakers for my system. I have a sound blaster 64 AWE sound card and was wanting to spend around 50 bucks.

I found the sony srs-pc71 for $50 but reviews have said they sound bad. Would they be okay as they are normally around 100?

Also, I was looking at getting some altec lansing ACS 44 powercube with subwoofer.

If any one has these please throw out some input. Thanks

    donn

Donn, I have ACS 295s and I like them a lot. I haven't heard the 44s but based on the specs the 295s are superior speakers. Plus I think the design is better.

The lowest price for the 295s in Price Watch is $63.

Go and get the Mercury multimedia speakers!!

    It rocks!!!
The bass of the subwoofer(30w) can trashed
ACS 295s and ACS 44 anytime!!!!
Any the satellite speakers' sound are very sharp and clear even at the highest volume.
There are also 2 more extension for optional surround speakers! It only cost around $60.

hey why dont you just get some RCA cables and hook up a car stereo system to your computer like i did! i have 2 3.5in sattelite speakers, 2 tweeters mounted on my monitor, 2 surround sound speakers mounted on the wall behind me, and 2 8in subwoofers under my desk! it makes stuff fall off the walls upstairs when i turn it up loud!
