Consolidated Topic of the Day: The election...

I've decided that by the nature of this election, I will be behind whomever is declared the winner.

I feel so bad for these guys. Early in the evening I'm sure Bush was thinking he lost and Gore thinking he won. Later Bush is on top of the world and Gore thinks he lost.

Now they both don't know. They both must be so confused and uncertain. The anxiety must be unbearable.

The best thing that can happen is that whomever loses stands up and supports the other guy. I hope they don't start crying foul.

Either way, I'm behind whomever they declare the winner. These guys both deserve it. They both fought hard and I really do think that they believe what they have been campaigning about.

well I have to say really no matter who wins even after the Fla recount...I'm almost certain there will be even another recount...of all the states that were close...I mean this whole election is just too close 4 them not too...and with the back and forth stuff ...its going to happen so expect it.

I have to say also I couldn't blame either 1 4 asking 4 a recount after all of this.I mean I probably would being its this close.

also can you guys belive how close the Senate and House of Reps is ...I mean they are basically 50/50....this is wayyyy to close

Florida has more problems now. People in Palm Beach are saying they voted for Buchanan when trying to vote for Gore because of the way the ballots were laid out. They say it adds up to about 3000 votes.

I heard about this late last night. I was under the impression that there was something confusing or misleading on the ballot that may have cause the voters to mark the ballot in a way that they had not intended.

At that time Bush was up by 3% and they reported that it wouldn't make any difference. If this hasn't already been corrected, it could be another problem for Bush.

voogru many of them did say something right after voting. Watch CNN and you will see what the ballot looked like, I can see how some people may get confused.

Man! I went to bed last night not knowing what was going to happen, but I figured it would all be clear in the morning. Wrong.

Hmmm...that Palm Beach ballot is a bit confusing at first glance. Wonder what Buchanan has to say about it.

Regardless, to be part of the closest Presidential Election in US History is exciting, and I think all can agree on that.

Who's the idiot that designed that thing? Whoever it is should be fired.

I would much rather a blowout by either party. This is going to cause so much bickering no matter who wins. I hope the candidates stay above the fray and try and support the guy declared the winner. I might not like who ends up winning, but I think the other candidate should be graceful.

This is shaping up to be something that all Americans seem to like. A sequel!!! Gore Vs. Bush II 2004!

I agree crockett.. If the IRS can standardize Federal Income Tax forms, why can't they standardize ballots? I think we can guess the answer to that one....

In any circumstance, voters have the option of becoming familiar the the punch system. In fact, before you sign your name in the book to pick up your ballot, they ask you if you know how their booth functions. They do change from time to time.
