Lightbulb Anyone know of a VW Polo? Here is soon-to-be-mine

Heh, I saw this when I went to momentum, and I thought, hey, that would be a really sweet car to lower and do some stuff to.

I searched the internet, and there are some really sweet Polo's out there!

Funny thing is, this is one of only 2 registered in all of Canada, and I like having an oddity.

    Here are the specs:

    It weighs about 1600 Lbs
    1.3L 50-65HP Motor
    uhhhhh, not much else.....

They are asking 2 grand US for it, but I think I can get it for about 2 grand CDN...

Here are some pics of it and some modified ones.....

And, after mods, this is a good one:

But this is what I am going for, totally:

Man, I cant wait til I get this, hopefully I will, as there are a couple of other people looking at it too, but I get top priority, as my dad is the LandLord of the shop they are working in

    -=Missing the point=-

oh yeah, BTW, I forogt to add what I am gonna do for a motor:

    These are my choices:

    1.8L 90-120HP,
    1.8T 150-400HP
    2.0L 16V 130-200HP
    1.8L G-60 Supercharged ????HP

I am not sure if the G60 could fit, but it woul;d be about 200 HP I am guessing.

My fav choice so far is the 2 L 16V, I think, as it is pretty cool....

Stock, the 16V in that car could beat a 5L Mustang

This has twice as much hp as some lawnmowers I know of .

May I ask, what are you going to use it for? The modified one that is linked at the bottom has about 1 3/4" ground clearance at the front.

*EDIT* - Like those motors a bit better

That thing looks like a rabbit I had. I killed that thing. I left it sitting in the parking lot of Wendys! The transmission was laying in the street and there where a few hole in the hood. I did finally master power shift though, with a real car! I have gota have a V8!

Seriously though looks nice a nice little ride if you can handle the lack of power. If it is truly as rare as you think then do not modify it in any way.

Its only rare in Canada and US, it popular in Europe, as it has to be imported to here.....

The stock motor wont stay for long, I am gonna get a swap ASAP, so itll be FAST AS HECK real quickly, but itll not be too slow when I get it, as it has about the same Power-Weight as a stock VW Golf.....

    Cool

Nice car.. Not my kind of style, nor power though.

These are possibilities for me next year :

    - 2001 Ford Mustang Cobra
    - 2000 Chevrolet Camaro (320HP SS)
    - 2001 BMW 3 Series Sedan

Sorry, but I gotta be honest...UGLY. Very ugly car. The modified ones look a little better, but still, blah.

That 2liter looks like a nice little engine though. I suppose it's front wheel drive...yuck.

But I'm not driving it, you are, so as long you like it that all that matters. Have fun.

It is a nice little car, I see em a lot here in Holland, heck even my neighbor has one!!!

    But some advice:

Don't lower the thing as low as on that picture, you WILL regret it!!
Cause it will then be impossible to get over any kind of bumps!!!

But no offense intended, MTP. I'm glad you were able to snag the VW.

"kR": Apparently they buried your scuffle so just let it rest, punk. (And don't go digging through your IE cache to bring back old posts, you mad-quoting fool!)

Scott: Nice ride, dude! I bet you get those "kid's-driving-his-daddy's-car" looks all the time heheheh. There's no replacement for displacement, eh?

Thanks.. Yeah, I'm sure people do think that, but people think lots of things that aren't true, it's human nature. I recently moved to Texas, but previously lived in California - it would have been accepted out there due to the Internet boom, but here where everything is traditional, not too many 21 year olds buy such cars unless they get the dough from mommy and daddy.
