What do you think of CompUSA CDs?
They are so cheap, I really want to try them. Anyone had any problems with them?
Thanks!!

I bought a pack of CompUSA CDRW over a year ago and they are still working just fine.
-
bought a pack of 100 for about 29 bucks and havent had a problem yet.
Addition: I am only burning at 2x though, so I couldnt tell you how they perform at higher speeds.

Could that be why I cant burn at 8x? I can do 6x.

well if you cant get them to work you can always use them for frisbees!
-
red: possibly. some cd's just cant handle the higher speed burns.
-
if you use them for data then it good, but music cd = lost data
-
What speed are they rated for? Several months back I bought a spindle of 100 CDR's off of Ebay and it turns out that they will only burn successfully at 2x. You got to be careful when it comes to cheap CDR's and CDRW's. I found that out the hard way.

I bought the CompUSA CDs a couple of weeks ago. 100 for $29. I haven't made any data CDs with them, but the music CDs would have to be considered far from successful.
It usually hangs halfway through the right. This is at 2X. I didn't have any problem with the Memorex or Fuji that I used before.

Petros, what speed were you planning on burning at?
-
I can only burn at 4x as I have a Yamaha 4416s. I was checking out the website where they are listed, and they are listed under the manufacturer Memtek, and after doing a search for the company, it looks to me like Memtek is somehow associated with Memorex. Maybe the cds are made for CompUSA by Memorex?
Edit: What color are the cds? Blue, gold, hot pink ?

....silver? They are silver on the top, and a light blueish green on the "burn" side.
-
I've tried 50 of them and got 40% to burn properly.
They are not worth the savngs for me.
Sony and kodak work great for my 8x burner.

IMHO they are the worst cdr's that i have tried. The have a tendancy of not burning well. Also the layer that "burns" easily flakes off.
