How do i dissable the autoexec 'set' files from showing up at boot up?
Im sure its easy for an old pro

Start, Run, type"sysedit", hit enter, type "rem" in front of each line in the first folder that comes up, Close all folders, saving the changes you made to your auto exec.bat{it will ask you}.
If your machine doesn't boot properly after, go into safe mode and remove the"rems".
Easy enough once you do it once or twice.

if he just wants the set command not to appear but still work, he doesn't want to rem out the commands -- that will disable them, while still showing them at startup.
he needs to add "@echo off"
at the beginning of his autoexec.bat file.

And if you don't want to see the autoexec lines that has been REMed being displayed at all, just insert a line at the beginning of autoexec - ECHO OFF
