The commies down south
Why don't they just let the kid go????? I thought he had been sent on his merry way but then I read this.
WHO CARES ANYMORE?!?!?!? I sure don't. Just let him go. What's the big deal? Let him live with the commies if they want him so bad...

Yep just pathetic! Let him go home with his father.

NO KIDDING..
Where the heck do you think the kid would go, if he had a choice? Obviously, back to Cuba with his father, where he is OBVIOUSLY most happy!!
As far as I'm concerned, this Maryslesis and Lazaro Gonzalez are almost next to strangers. Everyone thinks that these two are this kids' uncle and cousin.. But they aren't even THAT close.. They are like a great uncle and a second cousin or something like that.
They just want the kid, so they have another excuse not to be employed.

cant't imagine the confusion in this childs mind after the attention, lifestyle and near reverance he has been placed under, not to mention the millions that have been spent on this fiasco. thos Cubans in Miami dont give a fig about the kid, they just don't like Castro. IMHO

I live about 15 minutes from where he was staying at Charmeical Farm, where he spent his "relaxing" tim; drove by there a couple times, and saw where my tax bucks are going.
About 15 armed federal marshalls in the entrance to the farm, with notion sneosrs set up in all the fields surroudning the farm. It made me SO mad, send the kid back with his father and drop it!

Yeah.. Here's my view :
Government OPTION 1
-------------------
- Long Court Battles
- High Tech Security Gadgets
- Security Guards
- Media Coverage
- Every other concievable option, and other
unnecessary spending.
TOTAL PRICE : Too Many Millions of Dollars.
Government Option #2
--------------------
- Plane Ticket to Cuba
TOTAL PRICE : $500

Isn't is supposed to be a "tragedy" when a child is caught between two parents in a bad divorce? What's it like to be caught between two countries?
Send the **** kid back and drop this whole fiasco!!! If he likes it here so much when he's old enough to swim for it, be my guest.

Am I the only one who sees what's wrong with this picture? To send this kid back to Cuba is to send him directly into slavery. He will work for Castro. He will not even be with his father when he gets back to Cuba. The Cuban Gov itself said the kid would be in a sort of reconditioning camp. Customs officials have stopped Cuban officials headed for the farm with drugs such as Valium and something else I can't remember the name of, but it is referred to as "happy juice". Cuba is a terrible plce ruled by a murderous dictator. Send a 6 year old to Cuba? Blows my mind that people in America actually think that is the best thing for him. What is in the best interest of the kid? Life in Cuba??? You go there and see if you like it. Even if he will be in the same country as his father, he is still better off here. No doubt about it. He has relatives here that can care for him. In Cuba he is property of the state. What do you think is better?
if he had a choice? Obviously, back to Cuba with his father, where he is OBVIOUSLY most happy!!
How obvious is it? When I saw the news, he seemed to be pretty happy when he was with the family. And even if the relatives were strangers, he is better off here in America than in Cuba.

And another thing, after being lied to almost every day by our own government, how can anyone believe any news that comes from there? What is reported by the media is spoonfed to them by the White House. What we are hearing many times when we turn on the TV is White House rhetorik and propeganda. Whatever the Gov wants, they lie to us about why they want it. For example, Elian has the right to seek asylum without the consent of his parents I researched the law several months ago and found it. Elian's lawyers are not allowed to see their client Elian is not allowed to see his lawyers. They are his lawyers as well as the family's. Makes me sick the power our federal government has seized, and nobody seems to care.

Yes. He would be more happy with his family. Who is to say he does not want to go back home? Who is to say he is better off here? This may be a circumstance where he is better off there!
I know that if I were that little boy, I sure as hell would not want to go live with some stranger, who I barely know. You are not thinking in the sense of the little boy when you say that.. Sure, he may get used to living with these people over months and months and months of living with them.. But what was probably going through that boys' mind every single day he was there, was when will he see his dad? Its different when you are that small. You are scared and helpless without someone close to you.
As far as that goes, he may as hell just go life with Janet Reno!

.......is this still being discussed? I thought this all died down a month ago or so.
why isnt he back in cuba yet? He doesnt belong here.
short and to the point, I always say

hmmmm......is it just me or does it seem this kid is a political tool.I think Castro just wants to use him in his advantage.Example:We have dozens of mexicans who die each year down in AZ trying to cross a canal, and some who cross,no one rallys for the ones who make it (and are "adopted" by family members who live here)when the INS takes them back south. The US should just give him back and spoil castro's plan to humiliate the US with there own citizens.

Sure Narayan, he should be allowed to seek political asylum. BUT, he's not old enough to make decisions for himself. That's what we have parents for. His just so happens to live in Cuba.
It may not be fair, but people are born in all kinds of places around the world that make the US look like utopia and we can't raise them all with relatives here. When he's of age, he can choose to come back if allowed.
There are so many more important things going on in the world today.
BTW, did anyone here know that Janet Reno is like 6'1"???
----------------------
Also, in my opinion, illegal is illegal. I don't give a rats *** where they're from. I just get SO sick and tired of seeing Mexican's flee their own **** country just to come here and fly their Mexican flag and air-brush "Mexican Pride" on the back windows of their trucks. If it was that **** good there in Mexico, why the hell did you sneak over here????
