I think Altec Lansing sounds better because they usually include sound reproduction in the midrange vocal frequency region, where the Cambridge and bose Acousti-headaches only produce the low and high freq's leaving the midrange to our imagination.

Yeah I know. But there is some feedback about Cambridge near the bottom. Just letting you know.

I have my stereo as my pc speakers so I can't give much of an opinion. But before I decided to do that, I almost bought the Cambridge FPS2000 surround sound speakers.

If you must buy "computer speakers" then these have got to be the best sounding I've ever heard:

wtp I have the Cambridge Soundworks dtt2500 Digital surround sound system on my computer and it works great for dvd's and games...however this is about as top of the line as CS will go and you can sitll find better deals from Altec Lansing and Kliptisch if you want top of the line things.

dumb things??? You mean asking people if they want FREE Compcrap shirts is dumb? You mean helping people with their problem is dumb?? LOOK AT YOU! You are crazy! You are posting on alcohol problems! You are telling people to put paste on top of a thermal pad! You are "thinking" your friend did a good job from getting a 100+ increase! Now... the reason why I made this thread is because my friend keeps on telling me why his DT2500 is sooo.. good, seems like ChipBGT already answered my question. Thankx Chip , and for you... just keep it to the topic.

I once ran him off by insulting him or something. He swore he would never come back.

I honestly think that if everyone would stop ragging him he would learn a little more or at least be a bit more open minded. Nothing is being accomplished by putting him down. If you want to rag him just go to the sysopt confessional and confess your sins there.

The kid really does have some problems that do not really need to be discussed on this board, that is the reason I provided him with the link I did in another thread.

My point is if you don't like his posts then do not replay to them no matter how ignorant you think they are. Just leave him alone.

I had the fps1000 by cambridge, they are OK for a cheapo setup(the competing altec asc48's sound much better and are cheaper IMO),but being the psuedo audiophile that I am I had to upgrade recently.....I did not have alot of cheddar to spend to the choice came down between the altec asc56 and the cambridge(creative)fps2000.......I read some reviews and listened to people and all seemed to point toward the altec...I was still a bit unsure,so I then went to bestbuy and listened to them both side by side....the altecs kick the **** out of the fps2000 in every single way(plus from a review that kinda compared both, the altecs had a higher max db,and greater clarity with alot of bass and nice high notes).........so when I got them I wasa very very happy(plus I used a 20$ coupon from buy.com so I got them for 82$!!!)...............I just went over to my friends that has the fps2000,and they really do sound bad in comparison........

BTW do not let that digital line in that the creative offers fool you into getting it.............sound is analog, not digital....so converting it to digital and back to analog(this is basically what happens)does not really make any sense...........this goes along the same lines that a nice turntable(I mean really nice) and the best needles(about 150$ a piece)sounds far superior to the cd format...........anyways shouldnt this be in the general discussion?
