"I honestly don't know what went into me," he told Judge Salem Ahto. "I never did anything bad before. I know it was a horrible, horrible, horrible mistake that I made."

And he kept on doing it. (sigh) some people.

The link should work now. If you remove the home- from the link everyone should be able to access it.

Despite the Treasury changing the look of our bills fairly recently, ostensibly for the purpose of reducing counterfeiting, things have come to the point where I cannot go to a Wal-Mart or Office Depot without having to watch the cashier take a yellow marks-a-lot to the bill (Some fading-ink special tool for identifying counterfeits).

I was a cashier for many years at a convenience store. I had three people attempt to pass bills I felt were bogus. I refused them. No telling how many counterfeits actually got by me, but they must have been darn good ones, for the ones I refused were on the right paper, and the main giveaway on one was the faint impression of other printing (a $1?) underneath, which led me to flex the bill and notice cracks in the printing appear-- toner does that, not intaglio printing.

If these minors were getting away with it, what do you think of the cashiers ACCEPTING the bills, probably on ink-jet paper and water-soluble inks?

No doubt. One of the biggest identifiers of our currentcy is the way it feels not the way it looks. The paper is 50% cotten. And if you're dealing with handling bills all day long, I can't imagine one would get by you unless it was on the proper paper, such as when they beach a $1 bill and print $100 on it.

Yeah really. He just has probation. I would think it would be worse than that, even if he was a minor at the time. C'mon, should add like 300 hours of community service and have him pay a large fine.
