People are tactile, they like to interact with their environment.
Do you spend hours a day cleaning finger prints off of your keyboard? What about the mouse?
Get a bunch of laser pointers and a cup of some sort to hold them.
Duct tape cup to top of laptop monitor (use coat hangers for wizz bang job).
Open favorite graphics app and create bitmap the size of your laptop resolution. Use annoying colors like yellow background and red letters. Make letters big. Type (wrapping is OK)
DON"T TOUCH ME!
ATTENTION!
USE CONVENIENTLY PROVIDED
LASER POINTERS TO BRING
OBJECTS TO MY ATTENTION.
THANK YOU AND HAVE A PLEASANT
DAY!
DON'T TOUCH ME!
Then save in c:\windows or c:\winnt as mydesk.bmp. Go to background tab of Display Properties and select the bmp you just created.
Other than that, I haven't tried this, but add another mouse and allow other people to use that to poit out stuff on your screen.

Laser pointers won't hurt a CRT. I know, I've tried. They don't generate the right light or energy to do anything.
I don't have a problem with people touching my screen. They know better than to touch my screen. However, I have fun making a point of how dirty someone's screen is by wiping it off whenever I work on their computer. They usually listen when I'm standing there and tell them not to tough the screen.
You could get a cleaning rag and a sign that says, "Clean up after your fingers."
Just a thought.

When someone smears their paws on my screen to point out something, I make a small show with windex and a towel. Wonder what a laser pointer would do to CRT though.. hmm.. any guinea pigs?
