Angry Grrrrrrrrrrr...stupid BT! When will the UK have decent internet access?

[rant] Other countries seem to be able to offer ADSL, so why can't we have it? Surely the same problems that BT has have been solved by other companies:

OK, so I can get ISDN, but the performance increase simply doesn't justify the price (£30/month - the same as my (almost) full subscription to Sky TV).

It seems like the UK is lagging behind again...... or wait...... no..... it's been held back by incompetence again! [/rant]

....but will it be better than...

    It
    Still
    Does
    Nothing

    Wink

The UK may be slow with DSL, but wasn't it one of the 1st places to offer a bunch of free ISPs (dial-up) which we (America) later copied?

There are some user reviews of UK ISP's here. Perhaps you could add your comments or find a ISP that may be better for you.

Cheer up, Krusty. After all, BT invented the Hyperlink... I'm sure that, with all the revenue soon to come in from licensing, royalties etc., the UK will have enough money to put in faster-than-light connections Any Day Now.

    Thumbs up

    Good link, cheers!

I noticed that some of them (free ISP's) support ISDN... I bet BT charge a 4tune to install and rent the line.... I'll check it out, though!

It would be nice to get a (sensible) flat rate... that IGclick sounds OK - £50 registration, then just £30/year for 24/7 dial up access.
