originally, hackers tlaked with numbers instead of letters, to be different. 3=e, 1=i, 7=t, 5=s, 4=a, 0=o, etc.

Z were also added everywhere possible and phoentics are considered good.
IE:
i 0wnz j00!!! means i own you.
