Gas...how high is too high?
Just wondering, some of our friends in other countries, if gas prices have been rising dramatically where you are?
I went to the gas station this morning, and man, $1.83 Gal for regular unleaded. I may have to start riding a bike soon if this keeps up.
How do they explain gas prices almost doubling in a year? Is it the same in all countries? I realize gas was always cheaper in the US, this is why I am wondering about the other countries. Have gas prices risen the same percentage everywhere?

Yeah Per Litre.. He's in Canada.
Thats low for Canada, actually..
Here in Saskatchewan 'tis around 75 cents/litre for regular unleaded I believe?
And I've also heard it could reach $1.00 by the end of the year.. That would be NO GOOD.
My homeroom teacher constantly persists about the rising gas prices.. He is very offended, and annoyed about the whole thing.
He drives a diesel. hehe

Diesel £0.809 / litre
Unleaded £0.829 / litre.
Hehehehehehehehehehehehe and you think ~ $1.85 / gallon is expensive. Try running a car in Rip-Off-Britain for a while!
Anyone with a gas-guzzling SUV would have to re-mortgage their house to fill the thing up!

The cheapest 87 grade gas I can find here is $1.58 per gallon.
$0.68 per gallon goes to the state gas tax.
Last year this time I was buying gasoline for $0.87 per gallon
That's a price increase of $0.71 in less than a year. Back in January desiel and heating oil were selling for $1.92 per gallon.
What's up with this?

When corporations do this, it's called price fixing and prosecuted. When country's do it, it's a trade agreement and perfectly legal. The bulk of the increase is due to an agreement by OPEC members to reduce production in order to raise prices.

OK, do you want a laugh?
UK fuel prices approximately converted to US $/US gall:
Diesel: £0.809/litre
£3.236/US gall (~4litres?)
$4.85/US gall (@ 1.5 $:£)
It really is making me laugh reading all these complaints about fuel being expensive @ $1.5 - $1.8/gall!!!
