i hate AOLiens
why is it someone always tries to send me porn or viruses to my mail, does it please them or something? Is there a way to make it so when i chat i cant get those links so i dont accidentaly click on them when im copying someones words or name as the room moves up?Or block all mail sept a few people who i know????I really hate this ,cause you know its always a virus like the link will be
www. a n gl e fir e .c om/freehotporn.ZIP
.ZIP??? cmon now...i got one when i was copying some ones words and the words in the room moved up and i accidentally clicked some link that said "here".And got some virus,i dont know what kind it was.
please if your on AOL and the link says something like .ZIP or .VBS dont click on it.Better yet ,report the person to AOL so we have a few less people like that online.
PS. i think AOL should have a team that monitors rooms and e-mail and scan the links, and if it has a virus in it,bye bye member

I'd say you're already aware, but why not set up a new Screen name just for chatting, and refuse all email to this name. It's a partial solution.
You could also invest in a program called PowerTools. Check out their website: http://www.bpssoft.com If you're in a chat room you can set it to refuse all Invites that come your way. Also, if you're in a chat room and do not accept IM's and always cancel them, you can turn them off and you won't be bothered ( you don't need pt's for this one). You can, also, go to your main SN and configure your email to accept what you want and refuse everything else.

Wait!! I have an idea!
Why don't you just scrap AOHell all together! Why should you stay? What are it's advantages? None!! Go sign up for some local ISP or something. You'll be much happier.
**** straight warthog
I'm with wathog on this one. Scrap it and get a cheaper ISP, since most are now.
AOL's expensive, slow, the chat rooms are full of idiots and you get tons of junk mail.
I've just cancelled AOL the bloke I spoke to took it really personally - he wanted to know why I was cancelling, who my new ISP was & how much were they charging cos AOL would try and meet it - I thought he was going start begging.........
I read somewhere that AOL bought? took over NetZero. Has anyone heard if they also took over freelane? Does anyone find it interesting (if it's true) that AOL would take over a free service?
I think someone needs to look into AOL's business practices, specifically, how they pressure you when you call to cancel.
I would not be surprised if the service reps get a special commission if they convince you not to cancel.
Looks like AOL-TimeWarner will be upon us soon.. The largest merger in U.S. history.
It took me three months to finally cancel my account with AOL. They kept giving me free months with unlimited hours. I finally ended up having to be rude and tell them they were going to cancel my account. I know someone who has doing it for 4 or 5 years now! He just calls every month to cancle and they keep telling him they will give him another month for free!
lol Jad. I guess that's one way to do it. But free or not, I would never torture myself by using their service.
hehe...I wonder if the lackys in the gov will go after AOL/Time Warner...
not 2 be mean, but AOL to me means, America's Online Losers.
my friends computer got this virus on it called AOL, but Norton and McAfee can't seem to remove it...? what can i do!?!?!?
This donesnt really have anything to do with whats being talked about now, but I am receiving email from myself at my hotmail address! To:email@example.com From:Joesmoe@hotmail.com
And all the subjects ar ethe same, have a URL saying im giving away free stuff, if you click on the big HERE button. Whats goig on? Do I have to get ANOTER frekin address? Oh yea, I also get atleast 20 porn advertisments a day on that one too Grrrr.......pissies me off, block sender hasnt done jack.
