Exclamation New York Sues Gun Manufacturers

Yet enother saga in the never ending gun control battle. You know what? They even sued Smith & Wesson, a company who had signed an agreement with the government making it exempt from future lawsuits.

I'm tempted to go buy a Glock because eventually they will be illegal or something. Can't forget to buy some high capacity magazines while I'm at it, since good 'ol Clinton made the manuafacturing of such magazines, illegal.

Here is a quote from a fellow gun advocate at another message board:
: If they can sue the gun makers for making a something that harmed or hurt or killed someone while it was used in the commision of a crime, I would like to start a lawsuit agains't the auto industry for all the people that have been harmed, hurt or killed with a car in the commision of a crime. There are more people killed by cars than there are with guns.
Here is the message board: http://pluto.beseen.com/boardroom/k/...?n=05574a05576

I think he has a point. The gun makers are not responsible for crimes committed with the guns that come out of their factory. Once a person buys it, it is theirs - not Rugers, not Glocks, etc.

What really pisses me off is that no matter how much we debate this thing at Sysopt or anywhere else, the government will continue to do their thing, along with the media supporting it.

Do as I do...Keep writting your elected officials stating your position on the subject. Request their response and if it is not what you agree with make sure others know their position on those subjects. Get someone elected that promotes and defends your ideals

Just another reason why I hate NY. (No offense to the people of NY) Warthog I agree this is rediculous. Heck why not sue the electric companies for people who get electricuted, pool industries for people who drowned, heck God and mother nature for the storms and natural disasters people die in.

Warthog, trying to talk my dad into buying me a glock, not getting to far. We already have 3 glocks in the house. My favorite is the glock 21 my dad bought a few back, two high capacity clips, 14 rounds each The other two only have the 9 shot cli[ps, made after our wonderful president passed the law banning the sales of anymore high capacity clips. Dad says hes still gonna buy some from Germany next time he gets across seas. If you plan on buying high capacity slips, once you find them, plan on paying 150+ per clip. Glocks for life!

haha, glock, that rhymes with clock. And yes, i want a .45. Man, too many **** lawsuits, and people sueing people for no reason, better off sueing people for stepping on ants, or for killing grass. There is more grass being killed than people, and animals combined.

well...I'm definitely a better shot with a .45 auto than with a Glock.

Plenty of stuff for .45's left out there.

Maybe it's time to start saving again.

Because I want to grab the perp by the back of the head and shove the gun into his abdomen and aim for his skull through his gut when I shoot.

Glock 21 = .45 Boy its one bad gun.

To all Glcok and H&K shooters, do NOT shoot lead bullets out of these hand guns, make sure they are full metal jeackets. Reasons bad accuracy with lead bullets, and also with these barrles if not cleaned regularly when shooting lead, will cause the gun to explode from build up of lead in the barrel.

ILC - Keep up the shooting, maybe we can all meet somewhere in the future and goto a ragne

I suppose if gun manufacturers can be sued for other people's misuse of their product, then my co-workers could sue Taco Bell for giving me gas.

ILC, where are you? I go shooting on private land. I'll take you there if you're ever in my neck of the woods.

    LMAO Narayan (literally)

I love guns. There are the best thing. IMO, equal to computers. Wtp, check out the Ruger Mini-14 in .223 - that rifle kicks some serious buttocks. It's a good varmint rifle and assault-style rifle. The Mini-30 is a bigger version of the Mini-14. It comes in 7.62x39 (I think).

I've heard so many things about Glock pistols. The Glock 17 can be fired underwater (I have the picture)- as long as you're not using hollowpoints and all the air is out of the gun. It has been thrown against brick walls while loaded and has not fired. Also been run over by a truck, frozen, frozen in water, covered in sand, etc. One sweet handgun.

ILC, I'm in the same predicament as you - trying to get my dad to let me buy a Glock . I think it would be a good pastime to reload 9mm during the winter. Right now I don't have the money - actually I do but I'm about to buy a new computer. Maybe next year . This summer, I'm going to do some night hunting with my Ruger 10/22 target rifle. **** skunk got my dog last year. Vengeance is mine....

    **EDIT***********
Oops! Wtp, thought you were talking about the M-14 (late 50s, early 60's assault rifle).
