    Post Some people...

I read these postings and see where people almost on clue will bash something just to stir up a little trouble. Why?

I see where you have the "Microsoft sucks" crowd who have no clue that they can actually do more with the MS products...but are biased anyway. ( IE: They think the underdog is better. ) Then the anti Intel crowd...same there.

I think people like to persecute others who have been successful just to make their own missed oppurtunities seem more acceptable...kinda like people on welfare bashing the self made millionaire, but they wouldn't get up for work more than 2 days running! Or even they would get a "Good Job" meaning just s soon as they catch up a little, they will quit it and talk about how they HAD a GOOD JOB but got screwed.

Then there's the crowd that feeds off of the gullable. They start a crusade by telling people BS stories about how bad this thing thats better really is...

Well, I'm not complaining...just find it a little humourous and a little stupid that people will say and do anything, almost it seems just for the sake of attention.

I don't even know why I am writing this...maybe just for the attention or maybe just to let some people in on a few things.

    Who knows!

I have always noticed the Intel sucks, Microsoft sucks attitude here. I really don't care about the name of the company - just give me a decent product.

You bring up a lot of good points there.
I think most people are guilty of having something against a certain product or company. That's just how people are.

I think if you have a genuine reason to h8 a certain product, or say that it sux, that's fine - my m8 tried some AOL free 10 fone call stuff and hated it 'cos of the interface and the 'net nanny' "feature".

I h8 MS Excel 'cos, for what I want to do, it is limited and a pain in the ***** to use. But I want to do scientific stuff and Excel is more for accounting. I think Sigma Plot is fantastic for what I want to do - I can import data and create graphs in seconds, I can also write my own regression code really simply, rather than 'exponential' or 'polynomial' and SP will do all the statistical analysis on the data automatically.

Get this: the installation footprint is 9MB!!!

    Impressed!

    Thumbs down

You guys are funny. No, really. If fact so funny you're on the verge of being a joke.

I hear you all say things like "SysOpt is the best forum anywhere", and "people here are smart, friendly and helpful" but then you turn around and say "I have always noticed the Intel sucks, Microsoft sucks attitude here". So which is it?

And if anyone has the right to be bias against a company it would be the people that have been dealing with that company in their work and home lives for the past 5-15 years. Which would include many of the SysOpt regulars.

I really like the way Warthog can hate companies of his choice but that's ok because he has reasons. LOL. Excuse me while I barf. You don't think anyone else has reasons for their attitudes? That's so friggin arragant it doesn't even deserve a reaction.

And speaking of arragance, BBA. Nice how you can lump everyone into a "crowd" just because it suites your current rant. Personally I'm not against MS but I understand the arguement many people do have against them. And I do have strong feelings against Intel, but so what...it doesn't matter that I might have rational, intelligent, and reasonable arguments for hating Intel, no just skip that because according to BBA I'm just one of the "anti-Intel crowd". Well ya know what??? [Outpatient bites his tounge to save socagal/mntsnow the work of having to edit this message.]

    Geeeeeez, some people!

Why can't it be both? Just because we may love one thing doesn't mean we can't hate another.
And I do have strong feelings against Intel, but so what...it doesn't matter that I might have rational, intelligent, and reasonable arguments for hating Intel, no just skip that because according to BBA I'm just one of the "anti-Intel crowd".
Actually BBA's quote is this exactly:
I see where you have the "Microsoft sucks" crowd who have no clue that they can actually do more with the MS products...but are biased anyway. ( IE: They think the underdog is better. ) Then the anti Intel crowd...[who have no clue that they can actually do more with the intel products]
His words at the end of his message were "same there", so I went through the trouble of spelling it out for you. He was referring to only those people who have no clue they can actually do more w/ the product. If you are one of these people, then yes, you fall in that category.

I agree w/ BBA to some extent. It's human to have 1 bad experience w/ a company and then just write them off altogether. It's also human to jump on the bandwagon (i.e. everyone's bashing intel, I will too).

Somebody from Microsoft told me that we shouldn't pick camps. Instead we should examine every OS and identify features that we like from Linux, Windows, MacOS and UNIX, etc. From that, we'll be able to put together all the good ideas and create an OS that appeals to the largest crowd (I won't say everyone). Yes this is a very MS point of view - take all the best ideas and I have no problem w/ that. There are things I love and hate about every OS, but I don't hate the whole company or even the whole product.

Whoaaa...getting a little defensive here. I have asked this question before about hating MS and Intel. What some of you told me is exactly what BBA said: going for the underdog. Whoopee. Or you hate them because of their business practices. Yay.

Please understand this: I am no advocate for MS or Intel WHATSOEVER. As I have already stated, I take whatever product is better. Ok??

    Man...cool down a bit, Outpatient.
