Going to war is condemning yourself to repeat the mistakes of the past. I wouldn't, not because I'm scared, but because it's probably over something like rice again. Oil I can understand, but not rice. And if it's WWIII, well we're all screwed anyways unless it's prevented. (It can be prevented, b/c all war is based upon necessity or money. Give the people in the war common sense, and it will knock out all the greed, thus no war)

So all in all, I'd stay home.

But what if it was about something like Desert Storm was? What if WWIII didn't involve WMDs (weapons of mass destruction - nukes, chem., biological)? Suppose it was conventional warfare?

Well if it was on Canadian soil we wouldn't have much choice... With our army the war would be at our doorstep in no time. Good thing everyone likes us Canucks. (Almost everyone. You know who you are... )

If I was drafted into the armed forces, I guess I would have to go. If I try to get out of it, I go to prison. I would be reluctant but I would go. Not much you can do about it. But I would sure try as hard as I could to find a loophole to get out of it probably.

Of course I'd go. Might not want to go, but there's no question I would serve my country if asked to do so.

If you are the type of person that would refuse to serve and defend your homeland, then you need to seriously question why you are living there...and possibly find a new place to live.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt -

"Uncle Sam's Great Southeast Asia War Games"

    "Second Place"

If we're in such deep doo - doo that they'd need a broken down old retread like me, I'd go in a minute. If they took all of us old farts I'd bet that we wouldn't make the same mistakes as last time. If they messed with us we'd shoot the right people and win.

Well...If I had to go I would try to be the best soldier as I could be. My main purpose is to come back alive of course but the fighting for our country is important. I would be scared out my mind, thinking that I will never see any of my friends or families again. But if my country asks for me to fight I will not go hide from them and, I would have faith that God will protect me through it.

    Hello,

That's the reason why we are here. We didn’t want to participate in stupid war among nations (former Yugoslavia).

Funny, ive asked myself this qustion many ah times in my head, and you know what,

Where do I go for boot camp. As much as there is in the country that I despise of, this is my country. I would not let the deaths of oh so many before me go to vain. Funny thing is to think about how many men have died for YOU! When those men were called to action, they looked death straight in the face and said bring it on. Why? Not becuase they had to, but becuase Lady liberty asked them to. Therefore I feel it is my place to do the same.

God bless the U.S.A, and keep us from war, but lord if theres a war, youll nkow where to find me.

    Medo,

I am sure no one would hold a grudge against you for your decision to move to another country....in fact if you have the means and dont mind the move, then I would be all for it. I guess I forget that as an American citizen, the chances of us being invaded are slim to none....I mean we have Canada and Mexico around us, two of the quietest neighbors a country could ask for Its easy for me to say I would stand up and fight when I know it will never happen. Do you have any plans of ever moving back?

I spent 4 years in the U. S. Air force and would proudly do it again.

    I'd suit up!

But I would absolutely refuse to take a shot of that anthrax vaccine! So if they tried to force it on me, I'd probably end up being court-martialed
