    Thumbs down Drinking and Smoking

Is bad for you isn't it?
But why do majority of people do it?
    My father drink and smoke.
I dont think he would live very long
if he hadnt cut down on it
or better drop it all together.
If we know drinking impair your judgement
    why still drink?
Or maybe some people don't and say they do?!
Smoking is burning stuff and inhaling nicotine. It doesnt smell good infact it make you sufficate.
Bad stuff if you ask me, smoking is filthy and so is drinking alcoholic beverage.
If you want to feel better get some fresh air
    on your backyard.

Well at least drinking might (it's still not clear) improve your cholestorol although it's at the expense of your liver, but smoking really has no known significant benefits.

BTW, if you don't do it manually, we're going to have to add an "Auto Conjugate Verb Check" next to "Spell Check".

Okay, I hate to ***** and whine:
But Win_98...can you please drop the off topic posts?? I have actually stopped visiting the messages boards here recently becuase I am tired of stupids posts like this. I realize that not everyone is over 20 years old, nor is everyone from the USA...but these posts are wasing my time. Especially since you posted one similar to this a while back regarding alcohol use...or was it tobacco use? I don't remember. I love coming to this board--as it is a source of information and I can also get help as well as give help and support.
The occasional off topic question is cool. But, if you have constant questions about other people's lifestyles--or are curious on the lifestyle in another country--try a chat room like yahoo chat or something.

    Cool

Off topic? This is the "General Discussion" board. There is no off topic, is there?

Win_98: Yes smoking and drinking are very unhealthy. Not only for the person doing it but for other people around, too. Not only physically, but also mentally. People who drink like to think it's good for them, but unfortunately, it does more damage overall than good. It's pretty well known that wine is healthy. But the alcohol part of it isn't... it's the grapes that are extremely healthy because of it's antioxidants and other attributes. Beer is kind of the same way (I think). Alcohol is overall the worst drug out there because using it results in more deaths and abuse than any other drug in the world. If it wasn't such a mind altering drug (amplifies any mood you're in), people probably wouldn't be interested in it. I think it's funny how people exclude it from the "drug" category. Ya know, "drugs and alcohol". That's only because it's so common. And of course, cuz people always get defensive!

Anyway, smoking is so amazingly stupid! Not trying to offend anybody, but really, let's light something on fire that contains over 1 thousand chemicals (traces of pesticide included!) and fill our lungs with the gasses! Don't you think it's ironic that the #1 reason people die in fires is from breathing smoke, yet people can't wait to light their own fire and inhale it! Let's see, what's the purpose of the lungs? Oh, yes, to oxygenate the blood stream to our brains. Why the H would we want to pollute our blood stream!? By the way, that's why the brain decomposes from smoking & drinking.

Well, now that you're all feeling offended... remember, it aint me offending you, it's the facts!

By the way, I'm not condemning smokers & drinkers!

Hope that helped answer your question Win_98!

awhile when thing kind of heat up.
Thank you for welcoming me back I am glad to hear that.

The truth is I'm allergic to smoking and drinking. I couldnt stand the smell of cirgarette as it act as a depressant for me.
Had a friend that smoke but it difficult for me to be around him, he never did encorage me
either I guess once you're addicted to it, it very hard to get off it.
I think the taste of beer is horrible I dont know how anybody enjoy it.
Its bitter and taste like pills.
I think that drinking hinder your judgement so much you just dont care much about anything when you're drunk you do all sort of crazy thing like getting laid with anyone you dont care. LOL
Drinking wont solve anything it just make thing worst because it just bad for ya.
The funny thing is they are so addictive
once you start you cant quit it has side effect.

    OT = Off Topic

I'm sure you've seen "OT" said somewhere at Sysopt. OT roughly equals a random, weird, post that doesn't relate at all to computers and requires no thinking process.

This thread may be way off topic but at least it's interesting and not out of line (yet). Anyway, my contribution. I can't understand either how anyone could ever smoke a cigarette. It defies all common sense. Peer pressure yeah, but it's just plain stupid. Smoking a tailpipe would be cheaper and probably healthier if taken in the same amount as a cigarette. Drinking can be dangerous, although not nearly as unhealthy, if not done responsibly. I for one drink maybe once a month, and I have never smoked anything. How many 20 year olds can say that?

Alchohol - IN MODERATION - Isn't bad for you!

If you want to become an alcholic and drink heavily all of your life, then kiss your body good bye.

There is no such as smoking in moderation. Smoking is bad for you, no matter what.

Thats all there is to it.

How could anyone work on a computer without smoking? It doesn't make sense.
