Lightbulb aol just doesn't get it...

AOL is at it again, blocking another instant messaging product from interacting with AIM users.

    http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/cn/2000...ections_3.html

This is going on as the FCC is investigating AOL's dominance in the IM market, as it relates to the AOL-Time Warner merger...er...takeover.

    Wink

Maybe they should get split in half.
A browser company, and an instant messaging company.

They should be going for AOL instead of MS. At least MS puts out some decent products!

At least when MS bundled IE with windows, it didnt block netscape, you could still use it if you wanted.

Blocking other messaging services that are trying to be compatible is just wrong. I cant believe AOL is getting away with this. The AOL-Time merger is ten times as big as anything microsoft ever did, and if it goes through, Bill gates will seem like an Angel compared to the **** Steve Case will try to pull.

I hate AOL......I like other ISP's because of the pop3 and smtp servers for mail and other stuff. AOL doesn't have this.......so it sucks!!!! This makes navigating into some sites difficult.

I'm in the rebate-when-you-use-Compuserve "deal" and I hate Compuserve, which is AOL in disguise. There is only one good thing, and that is I don't get all these E-mail virusses that use Microsoft email to propegate. Just the other day, AOL called me and sail that I can have both AOL and CS for one low price of 29.99. Why the hell would I want to do that? I still havn't figured it out.
