What all changes does Earthweb plan to make?
Scott
I have been reading a lot lately about plans that Earthweb has in store for Sysopt and the Forum. How do you think they will affect our little community. I have been to the Codeguru Forum and I think it stinks. What all is going to change and when do you see these changes taking place or am I way off. I hope I have been reading all this stuff wrong.
Thanks

I don't know about that but Sysop's adverteasing bars are getting a little "ra--ACY," (I say, imatating Pauly Shore); ~~like "'Wanna Play' (my 4$$!@)...~oui~ ra--Acy," 'I mean like..earthweb keep up the cheap,,,,--- and teasy--- advertisiments let's see how many OLD-- ti-mers flee -and how many newkids cum into the fold...'
let's like overcock some testosterone baaaby!@

Just in case my meaning is not clear in the previous post - I am not at sysopt to be invited to chat with some voluptous babe.
~edit: "Punch the Monkey" was one thing..

Hello,
They will put a small clock (digital or analogue - don't know) in the top right corner so I will know the correct time.

Well for one thing, it's not "us verses them". "We" are EarthWeb. EarthWeb has owned SysOpt.com since August. It's not that EW is planning one thing in particular for SysOpt, it's a company wide redesign effort.
The bottom line is that while backend stuff will change to whatever we need it to (XML driven content, etc.) the front end (what you interact with) will be put in front of focus groups and select groups of users via surveys to find out what works and what doesn't. No one ever said that our forum would take on codeguru's software - EW is designing a whole new forum and using features/elements from a variety of apps.
I will keep everyone informed as the process unfolds.

There are ads? I must be immune to them cause I never see them.

You shouldn't ignore the ads. You should click on them. Its what keeps this happy family free.....
