Warthog, you crack me up. That seems a little iffy on the dumpster though. As far as GeneC. goes, never, never count him out. He's probably out for a little hike, probably a hundred miles or so. . Anyone heard from him lately or Apostle 83?

they will be in contention with the Filipino parachute hijacker....
General Jose Lachica said soldiers had recovered what was believed to be the remains of Mr Lakandula in a heavily forested area in the town of Real, about 70km (40 miles) east of the capital, Manila.
His body was found with the improvised parachute...
...A police officer told the DZMM radio station that the man had landed so hard that his body was buried in mud, with only his knees and hands protruding.

Now if the family is smart, they'll sue the store and be set for life. Not that it's the way it should be, but wait and see. They'll say that nobody should be able to get into the trash compactor in the first place.
-
Noctrl, I just bet they will. People will sue for anything these days. Bugs me how the court systems let people get away w/ ridiculous things like that.
-
I think they should sue. What if an innocent child playing had got in there? Wouldn't be so funny then.
-
You may be just trolling but for the benefit of those who actually do believe they should sue:
What if an innocent child playing had got in there?
Most likely, it would get crushed. May I point out, with stress on the word innocent, that this case is a little different than the shoplifter situation. There is no reason to make breaking the law a safe venture.
While I do agree there should be more safety in that device, I don't think the family has a right to sue.
-
That shouldnt sue! If they sue, someone should sue the family back for 5 times more then the family sued for in the first place. This sueing **** is getting rediculous! Now I do think that the compactor shouldnt turn on by weight, but its definetly NOT sue worthy, especially since it was a shoplifter!
By the way did any of you all here about the thief who fell through a sky light of a house he was trying to rob, landed ona knife on the counter and sued the owner of the house? What the heck is that?!?!

ILC - That skylight story is from the movie "Liar Liar"

*feels REALLY REALLY stupid*

IMHO, ... Justice!
Too bad the legal system can't be as swift. A revolving-door, judicial system, is a downward spiral.
