When AMD introduced the Athlon, I ordered a 500mhz unit from Systemax.
While filling out the form, I was shocked to find they were charging me TAX.
A move usually done only by stores with a presence in your state or all 48, whichever.
Not TOO bad I thought, then the real Kicker,
Systemax wanted $95.00 to ship the computer from the NEXT state to me !
WRONG, keep the thing I told em.
Between unregulated taxation and exorbitant shipping, I bailed out on this one. July 99.
In stark contrast, the store "Compgeeks" sellers of used and older stuff, only charges $20.00 to ship a bare computer, more better.
And this is from the Pacific Ocean 2,400 miles away to Georgia.
I'd say Nay to these folks unless they've changed policy..
