    Thanks--
I was just investigating the same deal, which I saw over at anandtech! I can't see anything that guarantees privacy, though... still, it could be a very good deal.

Hey... here's something that I've noticed.
The page pops up even if you clip the end numbers off the URL, that is:
    http://www.lanmarket.com/promotions/

While I'm sure that the end numbers in this case have nothing to do with the poster of the deal and are simply referring to the model of the free LAN (EN1658) we might all do well to start trying this when somebody posts a Steals and Deals link. These numbers sometimes record referral information, which can lead to abuses like the "AllAdvantage" pyramid a couple of weeks ago. If referral benefits are allowed at all on this site, they should be open and optional to any users of the links.

Sorry to dissect your tip, Msand9898... just pursuing an ongoing issue...

First, Roadrunner is way fater than DSL and is only $40 a month (if you have cable), and they give you all the stuff for free. Also, if it is ISA, then they are using a bad picture, it looks to me like PCI.

BTW, that link is www.flashcom.com , not the URL you have.

And the pics are always the ones that are wrong (not the text) - never trust them. It'll most surely be ISA.

Don't even get me started on DSL or cable availability. Back in Feb, I was told @Home would be in my area in March. It's now Oct. and I'm still waiting and waiting. I'm starting to suffocate.

Are you sure your actually getting this modem free?. 49.99 sounds like the combined ISP and DSL modem rental charges. I could be wrong but it seems too good to be true =). I got TCI@Home, or ATT@Home, and I rent my modem and an extra IP for 45 a month. Joel, If your getting @Home, Dont get TCI!, they are horrible =). Cable disconnects at least once a day, Ive had em come over and check my line, its better than perfect, they have to put something on the end to limit the signal.

Well, it's AT&T@Home now, but it was formerly TCI. I really don't have much choice. It's not hard to keep a dialup account as well. I just need some serious speed - speed that is only available in T1 quantities and prices.

I really don't want @Home at all because of their 128 kbps upload cap. But for the time being, I'm stuck.
